Description:

Damage Symptoms:

  • Yellow angular spots, confined by veins, can be observed on the upper surface of the leaf.
  • A greyish-purple mould can be seen on the lower surface of the leaf.
  • Defoliation occurs as the leaves gradually turn brown and dry.
  • Leaf damage results in decreased photosynthesis, ultimately affecting plant growth and yield.

Preventive Measures:

  • Maintain proper spacing between plants.
  • Avoid overhead irrigation.

Control Measures:

  • Apply metalaxyl or mancozeb.
