Description :

  • Cool weather and high humidity provide favourable conditions for the occurrence of this disease.

Damage Symptoms:

  • Powdery mildew typically affects the older leaves and stems of the plant. A white, powdery growth appears on both the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves.
  • As the disease progresses, the affected okra leaves turn yellow and eventually dry out.
  • In cases of severe infection, the size and quality of the fruit are affected.

Preventive Measures:

  • Spray Trichoderma Viride.

Control Measures:

  • Spray wettable sulphur at 0.3% or Dinocap at 0.1%.
