This pest is mainly found in the sugarcane producing states of north India. According to the environmental condition 5 generations of the pest complete throughout the year. Adult moths looks white-glorious if  else the outbreak of this is also terrible and damage. Damage symptoms can appear anytime from 5-6 months of crop till the last. Damage and outbreak symptoms are visible on the top of the crop. The newly hatched larva makes a white tunnel in the middle vein located on the lower surface of the leaf.
